March 29-30, 2012 - Hume Lake Christian Camps
This year's annual International Event will once again be held the day before the Firefighters Retreat at Hume Lake Christian Camps. The FFC International portion will run Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon, March 29-30, 2012. Our theme is “Living Our Lives For Jesus!” Spouses are welcome, but quite a few guys will be coming by themselves. It's a great opportunity to meet members from different parts of the world and to encourage each other to live our lives for Jesus.

Our host and speaker for the event will be Eric Simpson, a favorite close friend of Firefighters For Christ. Eric will officiate the First Annual Firefighters For Christ International Chuck Hermann Memorial Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. The games will begin Friday at 2 PM. Chuck’s Rochester, Minnesota Fire Department team will be stiff competition. He taught them well! Chuck’s Mississippi State Fire Academy friends will also be attending. Come to participate or watch the extreme rivalry. The champions will be the first team to have their name engraved on the Firefighters For Christ Ultimate Frisbee Trophy.

Lynette Albin will be sharing her testimony, during the Ladies’ Tea Friday morning. Lynette was married to her high school sweetheart for 21 years and was widowed suddenly at age 41. She was left a single mom, the sole provider, causing an identity crisis, grappling with so many questions and wondering… “Does God love me?” How do we navigate our lives through grief whether it be the loss of a spouse, parent, child, loved one, job, home, marriage, friendship, image, health or the loss of a dream? When faith and pain collide, what is our response?
In spite of her pain and struggle, Lynette went on to pursue her pastoral license after the death of her husband. She was hired as the full-time High School Pastor at Newport Mesa Church in Costa Mesa, California. Lynette speaks at high school groups, conferences and retreats. Her hope is that we will come to understand God is with us even in our darkest times. As Lynette shares her story, her desire is that we will experience the love of God and grasp the understanding that, regardless of our circumstances, God will show up in our lives.

Letter from John White:
We’re praying you will be able to attend the Firefighters For Christ Annual International Conference. Firefighters will be coming with and without their wives, as well as young men desiring to join our profession. I strongly encourage you to make every effort to join us Thursday, March 29th at 3:00 PM. This is when our weekend begins. I guarantee it will be life changing.
We’ll have lots of quality time together with the venue the Lord has provided us at Hume Lake Christian Camps. Thursday evening after dinner, firefighters will be sharing testimonies about what God is doing in and through their lives. Some will be sharing about ministries you may want to join. We’ll lay hands on new chapter leaders and pray for FFC ministries around the world. Friday morning, while the women are attending a special tea with Lynette Albin, we men will spend time together as Eric Simpson shares God's Word with us.
Hume's Firefighter Muster was a huge success again last year. Start getting your team ready now or join one at the last moment on Saturday, March 31st. It's a rivalry that is enjoyed by spectators as well as competitors! After lunch on Saturday, Broom Hockey will take place at Hume’s Ark. Win first place and have your team’s name engraved on the Firefighters For Christ Broom Hockey Trophy.
Please email me at JohnWhite@FirefightersForChrist.org and let me know if you are coming to FFC’s Conference on Thursday and Friday, March 29-30. If you know of others who are coming and may not have received this letter, please give me their names. It’s especially important that we know the names of the women who will be attending our Friday morning gathering. We want to have room for everyone.
Please let us know if you need transportation from LAX, Long Beach or Fresno airports. We want to help you in anyway we can.
If you are a chapter leader, please pass this message on to each of your members.
Your prayers for this conference will make a difference. We know the Lord desires to do great things in each person’s life.
Your brother in Jesus,
John White, President
Firefighters For Christ, Intl.
